Creating Company Logo

In addition to creating a unique name, designing your own distinct logo is another effective branding strategy that every business owner can employ. Aside from the name, having a logo to attach to that image reinforces the potential power that your brand has in the market. As a factor that compels customers to pick your brand out of other competing businesses, this is something that every businessman need not take lightly.

Visual recognition is the main purpose of a business or brand logo. Therefore, you need to produce a logo design that would easily stand out and be recognized. There are two steps involved in the process of creating a logo: first is conceptualization and then execution.

The conceptualization part is where you extract ideas from the message that you want your brand to convey to the consumers. Then, the execution part is where you produce creative ideas that will make tangible that concept you have for your brand. The execution part is the most vital part in this process because a good concept could still fail if not executed properly. Here is also where you should decide on the color or styles used in the logo.

Significance of a Logo

Logos are an integral part of a company’s branding strategy mainly because it is a visual representation of the company. For instance, companies create simple yet elegant designs to produce the idea of stability and trust. Meanwhile, other companies create an interactive and complex design to showcase the different features of the company.

Going back to the creation process of a logo, the information that you want to reveal about the company and its product will serve as basis for the creation of the concept for your logo. The same goes with how you utilize the design to showcase those information. There are different methods done to achieve this but you can perform some brainstorming to get the ideas out.

Logo as a Branding Strategy

The company is logo is the most important part in the creation of company image. It can be used as a trademark for the company to represent its existence and identity in the market. As compared to most advertising campaigns, a successful logo is one that is able to stay in the memory of the customers at a longer time and be able to appeal to their attention. This is crucial whenever you have several other similar businesses trying to achieve the same.

If you have decided on a final design for your company logo, then you can utilize that on various mediums such as websites, billiards, ad spaces, business cards, promotional items, and many more. If you did a successful job on the creation alone, the presence of the logo itself will serve as a reminder to people about your company and what type of business you do.

Protecting Your Logo

Since the logo is now a representation or visual image of your company, you must do your best to safeguard it and protect your company’s reputation in the market. If possible, you must patent your logo once you have decided on using it. Since you have invest much on it, you have to ensure that it is solely the property of your company. This applies not just for large-scale companies, but even for small ones as well.

Also, when you are working with somebody else in designing the logo, such as a logo design firm, opt only for those legitimate ones. This would help possible cases of infringement or to protect the reputation of your own company. After all, the main essence behind creating a logo as a branding strategy is to create your business identity.

Building Character Through Self-Esteem

Posted by admin | Posted in Presentation | Posted on 24-05-2009

Before people start to consider how self worth plays a key role in the development of character, many have

forgotten that building character through self esteem is indeed one of the most important aspects of

personality development.

As much as many people would hate to admit it, a more stronger foundation can be established with how a

person builds character, especially when self worth is a primary factor in shaping and molding the values

and virtues of a successful individual.

How is it so?

Studies reveal that self- esteem is the value of a person’s worth and there are a lot of factors that come into

play, especially in helping a person fell more confident about himself, which is also a primary factor in

establishing a person’s outlook towards ambition and success.

It is said that a person who is more confident about himself, the more focused and determined the person is to

aim for achieving a better state in life, regardless of whether it be for career, success, ambition, family or

personal attractiveness, among others.

To better understand and define self –esteem, it is simply holding one- self in high regard as a result of

several factors that determine a person’s worth.

Self- esteem does not seem to regard one as perfect nor does it demand from a person to be faultless or

blameless, rather, valuing the self as priceless or in high esteem.

This is what makes a person proud of himself or what makes them keep their head high in the face of

tribulation or adversity and can be considered a measure of a persons degree of response to life’s

circumstances, be it good or bad.

Self- esteem can also help a person make good choices, especially when it comes to personal development,

better learning or physical beauty.

Self- esteem does not start at birth, but as a person’s consciousness develops and takes shape, this is when a

person starts to measure himself as to his own value or worth.

It then shapes how a person looks at himself and compares or assesses himself with the environment or his

surroundings and starts to ask himself, do people like me for being me? Do other people regard me as an

example for others? How do other people look at me? My attitude and behavior towards life?

These are but some of the common questions that help man understand and gauge his value as a person.

People with low self –esteem are usually those who often do not regard themselves highly than they ought or

are simply those who do not want to risk making sacrifices for the betterment of their own personalities and

character.

Having good self –esteem is having the ability to make good choices and would less likely to follow a spur of

the moment decision without carrying or thinking things through.

There is less likelihood that someone with a good sense of self –esteem make decisions that could lead to his

own downfall by making the right decisions, taking to mind the value of his own personal feelings, safety,

health and well- being.

A lot of people may tend to ignore or neglect what usually are some of the best measurements of achieving

success or persistence in ambition than to explore the inner being, like how personality, outlook and attitude

affect their course of life.

Building character through self –esteem is as equally important as the sense of ambition itself.

How to Boost your Self-Esteem

Posted by admin | Posted in Presentation | Posted on 09-05-2009

Many people go through life’s usual phases of ups and downs which are common and normal stages in life, but when your self- esteem is low, you may need to know how to boost your self –esteem, since it can lead to problems you may not have thought of.

Self –esteem is the measurement or the value of how a person knows his worth and it’s effects are life –changing and dramatic, since it makes up a person’s attitude and outlook towards life.

Simply put, self –esteem is the fuel that makes you feel important or loved by others, but when self –esteem is low, you can either sulk and be sad or be afraid to try out new things or take risks and chances with your love-life, career, relationships and self – improvement.

Self –esteem plays a key role in the maturity of a person, especially when trying to get away from a precarious situation, weathering a personal crisis or going through a series of trials in life – our normal responses to these circumstances and situations are governed by how we value ourselves and how our decisions are dictated by these conditions.

Faced with tough decisions in life, the more self- esteem one has- the better it is for that person to make sound decisions, even under the face of peer pressure or stress at work and at home. Let us try to look into some of the common and best practices which have been tried and tested to help boost self –esteem.

Always compliment yourself daily, especially by trying to look for specific tasks you did good for that day and congratulate yourself for it.

It will give you a regular motivation to work harder and better to improve yourself and develop your sense of maturity as a person. List down all things you are good at doing and achieving, be it a talent, skill, sport or building up other people.

You can add more focus to these good points and fuels our passion to do better and make you not only understand yourself more, but also give you the true meaning and measurement of self worth and this is how you see yourself as important.

Appreciation of one’s physical appearance and bearing can also be your source of self –esteem, be it the size and shape of your body, your overall physical structure or unique features.

Your body can be your source of pride and will help you understand how you would like others to see you, or work on your physical appearance to boost self –morale and satisfaction.

Although you may regard yourself as important or having a sound mind, there are just some things you cannot change.

Sometimes when you tend to see things in a different light or perspective from others, don’t focus too much on making sure that what you think will cause things to change- more oftentimes it will not, but don’t let that cloud your perception about yourself.

When you have good self –esteem you will realize that what you did was right and was made under your own good judgment, sound principles and concepts based on your personal outlook and attitude towards life.

Do not let negative feedback affect you. Of course, one cannot help but feel bad about negative comments or reactions, but you have to consider that these are tests against your character and personality. When your self –esteem is high, you are less likely to be affected by these situations.

So try to look at yourself and see, and if you feel less important or are not satisfied with how you see and look at things, then think about ways on how to boost your self –esteem- you’ll thank yourself for it.

What is Brand Equity?

Brand Equity Defined

Brand equity is a marketing term used to refer to the marketing impact of a given product

in association with a brand name. It tries to examine how a given product will perform in

the market if it did not have the privilege of that brand name. Therefore, the basis for

brand equity and its impact on a business is based on the knowledge of the customer about

that product. And yet, brand plays a vital role in helping  build that knowledge and

awareness, as well as the choices they make based on that knowledge.

Brand equity, then, reinforces the significance of a brand’s value and produce that

positive type of recall in the mind of consumers. Marketing research has revealed that

brand equity is one of the most important asset to the company.

Three Perspectives of Brand Equity

As an intangible asset, brand equity only gets its meaning out of the perceived quality

and associations made by a consumer on a given product. Brand equity can be viewed in

three different perspectives:

• Financial: One way to understand the value of brand equity is to calculate the premium

that is placed on a product. To further understand, take for example two types of

products: one that is of a recognized brand, and the other is unrecognized brand.

Consumers are willing to pay a bigger amount for the branded product over those which they

are unfamiliar with.

• Brand Extensions: When certain products attain a certain level of commercial success,

most companies consider extending their line by introducing newer products under their

brand. Because of the existing brand awareness, these companies will no longer invest on

large advertising expenditures just to make that newly introduced product known.

• Consumer-based: The trust and attitude exhibited by a customer towards a given product

is impacted by the associations they make with that brand. Oftentimes, these associations

are a product of their own experience with using the brand. Therefore, actual experience

plays a crucial role in the marketing strategy, especially in a developing brand.

Benefits of a Strong Brand Equity

Not all brand equity is positive, therefore most companies invest on building a strong

brand equity. After all, it offers several benefits to the company. Below are just some of

the helpful benefits that a company can derive of a good brand equity:

• Establishes a more reliable stream of income.

• By increasing brand equity, companies are also able to increase their profits through

increased market share and premium pricing for less promotional costs.

• If you have established a good brand, then you can sell that brand name at a given

price.

Managing Brand Equity

There are three stages involved in creating, building, and managing your company’s brand

equity. They are outlined below:

1.) Your first step involves the introduction of a product of a given brand into the

market. You must establish a certain standard for that brand to be able to launch products

in the future that will sell in the market. Your aim here is to produce a positive

response from the consumer to build trust among consumers.

2.) Try to produce a brand that is unique and yet memorable. The attitude of your brand

must be accessible to consumers and must also provide benefits to satisfy its users.

3.) Consistency is the key. Your message must be synchronized with your company’s overall

image and reinforce the value espoused by your organization. This is one of the most

effective ways to build a strong brand equity.

How to Influence Your Classmates on a Group Project

Posted by admin | Posted in Presentation | Posted on 24-04-2009

Don’t you just hate it when your teacher divides the class into different groups and tells everyone to work on something? Well this happens and there are

times that you don’t get to choose who you work with and that makes the job more difficult. When faced with this dilemma, you should know how to influence

them.

If it just so happens that you were appointed as group leader, then so much the better because you will be able to set the direction of how things will go.

But before you accept the position, make it clear that everyone’s grade is riding on this assignment and that if someone in the group does not do their

share, then that person should not expect to get the same grade as the rest.

After brainstorming, it is now time for you to set a timeline and delegate certain tasks. As group leader, don’t forget to follow up on how each person is

doing and if they need help, be sure that they can approach you and ask questions so they don’t feel lost.

Make sure when you are checking up on everyone that you say this politely because in the end, no one is higher or lower in the group. Outside the classroom,

you are all students and you surely don’t want anything bad to happen to you as well should someone else be in charge.

If things are not going as planned, find out what is wrong and remind everyone that you have to finish the assignment before the deadline. If you have to

stay up late and work after school, go ahead and do it because again, your grade depends on it.

Should you need to take a break, tell everyone to stop what they are doing and have some fun for awhile so everyone will be able to focus on what needs to be

done.

After all the hard work, don’t forget to thank everyone in the group. Tell them that no matter what grade is given, you appreciate their effort.

Unlike in the work place where the project manager gets the credit, your teacher will probably praise the entire group. Still, if someone in the group gave

more than what they were supposed to contribute, give credit where it is due because without them, you would have never finished the task that was given.

When you are tasked to do something in school, influence your classmates by making sure everyone is up to the task, delegating some of the work, checking up

on them and thanking everyone for their contribution.

The task that was given to you is simply an exercise so that when you graduate from college, you will be able to do same thing with people you have to get

along with at work. So make the most of it and do your best given the time and resources.

This is a good opportunity to show to your teacher and your classmates the correct way to influence people when such an exercise is given. Don’t be afraid to

make some mistakes and take chances. If things don’t work, keep it cool and get help from the rest of the group because their insight could be valuable since

this is a group effort.
