In TCS- earlier Performers were sidelined/harassed and non-performing political people thrived. any change now

A few years back when I was working in TCS Management Consultancy group, all the Top performers were getting victimized , misutilized and harassed and ended up leaving TCS, while all the non performing staff who used to mess up and mis-deliver client projects, but were very good in internal TCS politics and groupism, used to get high importance/recognition. Was a very disillusioning first hand experience..
All the good professionals (new people) who tried to take initiatives for improvement, were harassed and even abused by the highly predominant low quality non-performing older staff in TCS, and left the firm after demotivation on this environment. As a result, all the low quality and less educated people who stuck to TCS past 10-20 years are probably occupying most of senior positions nowadays, while all the good people left due to demotivation and harassment etc. This was a big and very sad loss of highly capable and sincere manpower due to the organization's cultural failure.
I agree with your comments, Ram. I also saw these thiings happening in TCS. I think a lot of less educated people had joined TCS in late 80s / early 90 time frame, not by any qualifications, but mainly by reference/relation of some higher ups in TCS or Tata sons. Not to identify any religion specially, but a lot of them were from 'Parsi' community. I do not want to take too many names, but clearly remember a person called FALI J SEERVAI who did not even have a proper Engineering Degree, but used to be related to some senior Parsi people in Tata Group. He used to openly bully, abuse and insult all the good sincere qualified consultants in TCS. He used to tell everyone that he was related to Top Parsi people in Tata group and can get them fired if he wants, so people were afraid to even complain. There were many people like this in TCS, who were total non-performers but were relatives of senior people in Tata/TCS. They never used to work themselves, and also did not allow the sincere qualified people in TCS to work. I myself saw these type of unqualified people ( with high up relatives in Tata group) openly harassing and playing very dirty games with some genuine honest top-performing consultants in TCS, who left TCS due to this bad stressful environment. I do not think TCS ever took action against these type of people as they were connected to some higher ups etc. This was very sad indeed..

I am not a TCS employee and at the same time I would like to tell you people to put all your worries, queries, problems, doubts, misunderstandings and any other thing what you have written in your letter directly to TCS Company HR Department . You have a route and thereby you can unload your problems to higher officials and those people are paid for their job earning a good salary. Okay now I have decided to send your Yahoo question and my reply to their department and let me see what action they take. I think it is my responsible to forward this message to TCS people. I shall send the same and let me get an answer. I am staying in USA with my son and most likely I will visit Chennai this year end and I know many staffs working in this TCS , with whom I will discuss and get it clarified. Thanks for your information. With best of luck Yours.
