Low self esteem has been frequently considered the cause of a lot of the world’s social problems—from crime,

to the inability of people to socially interact with other people. However, there has been little consideration

as to what it really is, and what tangible effects it may have on a person. In order to understand what it is

and, in effect, resolve some of its detriments, it is first important to explore some basic concepts related to it,

as well as its various impacts.

To begin with, self esteem is the value people associate themselves with. Therefore, unlike the misconception

that self esteem is how confident people are about what they can do, self esteem is really more self-worth than

confidence. The latter, after all, is more associated with the belief in one’s own ability to perform future

tasks, whereas self-worth is how they see their own selves at the present time.

However, this is not to say that self esteem is a variable concept. Quite the contrary, psychologists consider

self esteem as a rather enduring conception that people have about themselves, despite the fact that there may

be some instances of a person’s self worth momentarily faltering in the opposite direction.

When people suffer from feelings of low self worth, they often compare themselves to other people. In the

process, they see their flaws sticking out, making them less respectable than the people they are comparing

themselves to. They will see what they lack and what they do not possess, and over-glorify the good traits that

other people may have.

Increased paranoia over the possibility that people are making fun of them may also take place. They may be

overly afraid of being judged when they go out in public with their flaws so obvious for the world to see. This

will create within them strong feelings of self hate and self loathing.

There are also moments when people who suffer from low levels of self esteem feel as though they do not

deserve the things they have, or are not worth the love their friends or family bestow on them. They will often

feel like they are not worth the trouble, and clearly a waste of whatever time, money, and effort that people

may be spending in order to be with them or to make them feel special.

They may then withdraw from whatever social interactions they have, or may at least have some difficulty

interacting with other people. They may become overly sensitive to critique, and may often feel helpless and

vulnerable even when around the people who truly care for them. Unfortunately, some of them may also

express whatever self hate they feel through anger and increased intolerance of what other people have to say

to them.

Some indicators of some form of low self esteem may include an obsessive form of perfectionism. People who

suffer from such low self worth tend to impose impossible standards upon themselves, and therefore foster

deeper feelings of self hate as they are unable to meet these expectations. They may also be too willing to

please other at their own expense. This is usually because whatever affirmation they receive from other

people become ways for them to see themselves, at least momentarily, as worthy of respect and love.

Unfortunately, without that nod of approval from other people, they will again express feelings of

worthlessness.

Creating Company Logo

In addition to creating a unique name, designing your own distinct logo is another effective branding strategy that every business owner can employ. Aside from the name, having a logo to attach to that image reinforces the potential power that your brand has in the market. As a factor that compels customers to pick your brand out of other competing businesses, this is something that every businessman need not take lightly.

Visual recognition is the main purpose of a business or brand logo. Therefore, you need to produce a logo design that would easily stand out and be recognized. There are two steps involved in the process of creating a logo: first is conceptualization and then execution.

The conceptualization part is where you extract ideas from the message that you want your brand to convey to the consumers. Then, the execution part is where you produce creative ideas that will make tangible that concept you have for your brand. The execution part is the most vital part in this process because a good concept could still fail if not executed properly. Here is also where you should decide on the color or styles used in the logo.

Significance of a Logo

Logos are an integral part of a company’s branding strategy mainly because it is a visual representation of the company. For instance, companies create simple yet elegant designs to produce the idea of stability and trust. Meanwhile, other companies create an interactive and complex design to showcase the different features of the company.

Going back to the creation process of a logo, the information that you want to reveal about the company and its product will serve as basis for the creation of the concept for your logo. The same goes with how you utilize the design to showcase those information. There are different methods done to achieve this but you can perform some brainstorming to get the ideas out.

Logo as a Branding Strategy

The company is logo is the most important part in the creation of company image. It can be used as a trademark for the company to represent its existence and identity in the market. As compared to most advertising campaigns, a successful logo is one that is able to stay in the memory of the customers at a longer time and be able to appeal to their attention. This is crucial whenever you have several other similar businesses trying to achieve the same.

If you have decided on a final design for your company logo, then you can utilize that on various mediums such as websites, billiards, ad spaces, business cards, promotional items, and many more. If you did a successful job on the creation alone, the presence of the logo itself will serve as a reminder to people about your company and what type of business you do.

Protecting Your Logo

Since the logo is now a representation or visual image of your company, you must do your best to safeguard it and protect your company’s reputation in the market. If possible, you must patent your logo once you have decided on using it. Since you have invest much on it, you have to ensure that it is solely the property of your company. This applies not just for large-scale companies, but even for small ones as well.

Also, when you are working with somebody else in designing the logo, such as a logo design firm, opt only for those legitimate ones. This would help possible cases of infringement or to protect the reputation of your own company. After all, the main essence behind creating a logo as a branding strategy is to create your business identity.

Nobody is shielded from low self esteem. However, it is important to differentiate between feelings of low

esteem from sadness, or from the effects of a string of bad days. There are a couple of symptoms of low self

esteem that you can look out for if you feel that you or a loved one may be suffering from low self esteem.

First, it is important to realize that unlike sadness or feeling like you woke up from the wrong side of the bed

does not constitute low self esteem. This is because psychologists often consider self esteem as a persisting

self-conception. This enduring self-image can permeate into a person’s every activities, as it is at the core of a

person’s conception of his or her self-worth.

One of the first symptoms is constant self-deprecation. You may find that a person with low self esteem will

easily say bad things about his or her self, passing comments even about how they are not worth the time or

effort that people give them. They may also talk about their incapacity to fulfil their duties.

In addition to self-deprecation, people suffering from low self esteem will constantly express unhappiness

about their bodies and how they look. Poor self-image is one of the most telling signs of low self esteem. They

may constantly be paranoid and sensitive about what people think about how they look. What’s worse, some

of them may respond to this bad self-image through some form of eating disorder.

People who suffer from low self esteem may be obsessed with order, forcing themselves to comply by an

impossible standard of perfection in whatever task they are involved in. This may make them work slower

than others, and may make them more vulnerable to feelings of not doing well because of their own

impossible expectations. This feeling of failure (despite the fact that they did not fail, except by their own

impossible, perfectionist standards) helps further feed their bad perception of their own self-worth.

They may also be extremely eager to please, depending very heavily on the approval of others in order to feel

good about themselves. They find no pleasure in completing and succeeding in tasks unless they are

recognized by the people whose opinions they believe matter.

They may even be all too eager to compare themselves to other people they have high regard to. However, it is

important to note that these comparisons, for them, fulfil the necessary function of highlighting what they

lack and what flaws they possess.

While there are those who withdraw from society as a result of their low self esteem, there are those who

respond by uninhibited anger against themselves or other people. They may express this either by hurting

themselves or the people around them, even if these people are not those who triggered feelings of anger.

After all, because of low self esteem, these people begin to hate themselves and the people around them. They

are also likelier to suddenly explode in anger over very little issues when they feel that they are being

cornered or humiliated.

By identifying the symptoms of low self esteem, you will be able to determine the best course of action in

order to appropriately respond. If you or someone you know scores positively in terms of these symptoms, then

it may be good to seek help as soon as possible from a psychologist or therapist.

About Brand Recognition

In any form of marketing strategy, brand recognition is usually the initial focus.

Business owners employ varying tactics to increase familiarity on their brand wherein the

ultimate aim is to create awareness about the existence of a given product or service.

This process will then produce a domino effect and impacts people trust of the product and

their decision on whether to purchase it or not.

Brand recognition can be achieved through various means though. Which is a good thing for

business owners because this means they do not have to allot large amounts of money in

order to get their brand recognized in the market. Awareness is of the essential in all

efforts for brand recognition. All other steps needed to be taken after that must be

looked at a different aspect, but this one serve its own purpose.

Importance of Brand Recognition

The reason might seem obvious but brand recognition offers multiple benefits for your

business. It is capable of impacting other aspects of your business, hence this is a

crucial determiner for success. Some experts have claimed that brand recognition is the

most important factor that could spell a business’ success potential.

However, the main importance of brand recognition is to establish a mental connection

between your business and its potential customers. Therefore, when your prospects hear

about your company or its name, they will be able to produce a general idea of what

products and services your business is offering.

With several similar business available, creating a distinction for your name in a given

field of business will encourage more people to do business with you. You also need to

consider the psychological aspect of it. Studies have revealed that people tend to go for

a name that they know or recognize. So, this is a helpful stat that you need to take

advantage of.

How To Increase Visibility?

If you’ve been working on a business startup, then chances are you already know the

importance of brand recognition and its role in the success of your business. But the

bigger question remains: how do you do it? Traditional marketing efforts for most company

involves major expenditures being set aside for increasing media presence such as

advertisement, to increase awareness of the product and create a connection between

consumers.

Today, there are a lot more avenue for that, in fact more interactive ones. Aside from the

traditional media outlets, the internet has opened up several possibilities to enable a

business to establish its name and potentially grow. Therefore, companies have also worked

on increasing their web presence to expand their market reach.

Studies have shown that most web surfers begin with a search. Therefore, it is best to

optimize your web site in such a way that it ranks well in the search engines. In short,

you have to make efforts to make your website easily found by potential web researchers.

That is why several companies invest in search engine optimization to improve their

performance and marketing strategies on the web.

Producing Strong Brands

The impact of brand recognition extends beyond purely marketing but also appeals to the

emotion of the consumers. In order to produce a strong brand that has established itself

on the industry, you must be able to purge favorable emotions from your customers. It is

one thing that largely impacts a consumer’s buying decision, so it pays to invest in an

effective brand recognition strategy.

The good thing about brand recognition is that it is not limited to giant companies. It

also offers substantial benefits for even small-scale businesses. As the the cliché goes,

familiarity breeds comfort. And when people have increased familiarity or brand

recognition, then they are most likely to feel confident about using your products.

by Validar Ralsatte

Most online marketing “gurus” focus exclusively on getting traffic to your blog or website from sources like Facebook, MySpace, StumbleUpon and Digg. But before you jump into their strategy, consider a few of the following flaws with mass-media user-generated websites like MySpace and Facebook:

* Myspace and Facebook have a huge number of dead pages - So many users have “been there, done that” that they do not login to there accounts anymore. You would basically be marketing to the wall. * Myspace and Facebook has implemented numerous safety guards - They have made changes which are hypersensitive against spam, and they label any outgoing links as spam or potential phishing sites. This puts a scare into people using these services, and causes them to apprehensive to clicking any outgoing links to your site. * Social Networking is about dead - When these services were new, they were great. While you may find some amount of success with these sites, your effectiveness rate would be about 30% of what you would normally expect.

We might not like it, but it’s part of reality. Social media is huge, clunky and often innefficient. Most traffic from social media is very useless, as the visitors are more curious than interested in buying anything or subscribing to future updates. Bored traffic is rarely good traffic.

To respond to the many problems, some focus on SEO. SEO is the attempt to rank highly on search engine results for a keyword. This often results in steady traffic. But SEO can literally take years in competitive niches.

Perhaps the fastest and quickest way to drive traffic to your website using the search engines is through using pay-per-click advertising services, or PPC. PPC allows you to place an ad on the search engines based on the keywords which people search. You only pay for advertising when someone clicks through your ad. Three of the top PPC programs are:

Google –AdWords Yahoo - Search-Marketing MSN - AdCenter

There are other services such as Miva which is used often; and, incidentally, Facebook has an excellent PPC program, which seems to be highly targeted — it laser targets your potential visitors by age, interests, location, and much more. This ensures that the right audience is seeing your ads — maximizing exposure — and providing you with quality, fresh leads.

Rates vary from keyword to keyword, but some terms can be bought for as little as $0.05 cents a click. Pricing really depends on the search engine you advertise on and the amount of users the particular search engine has. It is also dependent on how many people are advertising in the same niche as you.

When a user clicks on your ad after searching what they were looking for, they go to your site. If your landing page is good, and rich in relevant content, more often than not a visitor will buy your product. This shows a considerable profit in ratio to advertising, or return on investment(ROI). With the millions of users around the world using search engines, you can get loads of visitors to your website through PPC advertising, and multiply your sales volume in the process.

If you are looking for a quick way to drive traffic to your website using the search engines, PPC is the most obvious route to take in your marketing endeavors.

by Direct Sales Power Network

One of the best parts of being in direct sales is the fact that you can recruit, train and motivate a team that works for you not only building their own little empire, but helping to boost yours as well. It’s the number one reason many direct sellers concentrate so hard at recruiting a team of their own.

Now that you are a leader of a team, you’ll need to build a strong relationship with team members to not only help them stay strong in their business, but to help your business grow stronger as well. A solid relationship will be one that’s mutually helpful and everyone benefits.

How can you make certain your team is feeling included and supported, but still maintain some sense of balance within your own life and business? It can be demanding trying to provide support to everyone (especially if you have a large team). Follow these five ideas for sustaining a supportive and good connection with your team:

1. Don’t wait to get going! New recruits need lots of communication and support. Even if she doesn’t even have her kit yet, be there to answer questions and provide training materials.

Don’t wait to communicate once she gets her kit. Start the training and mentoring the minute she signs up. You can do this easily via email or texting. Don’t make it a monumental task; just be sure to touch base frequently.

2. GIVE 15. Set aside fifteen minutes of each workday for team phone calls. Use those minutes to call one to five members of your group for a quick “just checking in” call. Leave a message if you get voicemail. The idea is to let them know that you’re thinking of them and giving them a chance to hear your voice. This is a great time to ask how they’re doing with their life as well and get beyond your company to show you care about them. They don’t want to get the feeling you only care because you are making money off of them.

3. Even if you have a personal website for your business, make a team website. It is great for communication. You can post new members, meeting dates and updates, etc. Your team can check it at their convenience and it keeps everyone connected.

4. Meetings are essential, but you can set up tele-seminars and host phone call meeting or online meetings. Whatever method you choose, just do it! Your group will falter faster if they don’t feel supported and meetings are the best way to keep them together and involved.

5. Ecards. They are FREE (great!), but also convenient and fun. Use an Internet calendar function to keep track of birthdays. Once a month go through the upcoming month and set up the ecard deliveries for the birthdays, anniversary dates for the next month or more. You can set these up to deliver up to a year in advance! Everyone likes to get an ecard!

Bottom line…communicate, communicate, communicate! Your team needs to know you are there for them and that you care about them. They’ll be more likely to stay in business, work hard and stay motivated if you do these simple things.

In today’s rapidly changing world due to a fast –paced lifestyle and busy workplace, one cannot help but sometimes feel down and out, which can cause

negative results that affect productivity but one thing you could do is by using influence to motivate others.

The initial step in acquiring influence and power over others, especially in a working environment is to make sure that you make yourself valuable to the

organization, not just for being a leader or manager, but to make yourself indispensable by focusing on some tasks that only you can master and one that will

be valuable to the organization.

This step basically begins with you focusing on your job and doing it exceptionally and as you continue on, you develop your reputation of being a model

employee, resulting to job promotions and better career opportunities offered by the company.

Next make yourself more helpful and valuable to more people in the organization, you can do this by going the extra mile when providing service or working on

a project.

As this continues, not only do you expand your influence over others, you also expand your network of people, who consider you a valuable part of their work

as well. The next step is for you to seek more opportunities in terms of career advancement and growth by seeking for a higher level of learning and

acquiring a higher degree.

This can also be done by innovating more processes, like for a sales environment, think up of unique concepts and ideas to increase sales and productivity.

As you continue on with your career growth and climbing up the corporate ladder, you also allow yourself to expand your influence over a greater number of

people in the organization. First thing that happens when you want to use your influence to motivate others is to first win them over.

Here are some common steps and actions to take to ensure having your edge of influence in an organization.

First, set the example. If you set the example of doing a good job or performing above expectations, people will look up to you and follow your example. You

establish your reputation and credibility by being the person they expect you to be, better yet, exceed their expectations.

Second, be able to follow instructions with little or no supervision at all. This is one sure way that you help create an impression of reliability not only

with your peers and your managers, but also with your subordinates as well.

Third, whenever you are working on something, make sure that you exceed expectations by trying your hardest and ensuring that you focus to make it work

effectively and efficiently. This is one way that you motivate others to also try their hardest.

Forth, always behave maturely in front of everybody.

As a professional, you are expected to always display a professional demeanor. Not only are you setting the example of level-headedness, but you are also

setting the environment for others to follow suit as well.

Lastly, always display a positive mental attitude, especially in the workplace. There will always be occasions where other people exhibit a sense of negative

vibes or a depressing mood, but you can break the ice by showing a positive attitude.

In a nutshell, these five steps of setting the right example will pave the way for you to motivate others not only by what you do, but also using that

influence to motivate others.

Feelings of low self worth have plagued so many individuals over the years. While there are those who suffer

momentary bouts of low self esteem once in a while, how people perceive themselves and their worth is often

an enduring idea. If you’re one of those who feel low self esteem far too often, you need not despair.

Recognizing that you have a problem, after all, is one step in the right direction. Once you’ve recognized the

fact that how little you value yourself is problematic, there are some low self esteem solutions that can help

you in the process of beginning to develop greater love for yourself and appreciation for who you are.

First order of business, of course, is to recognize if you are simply having a chain of bad days or weeks, or are

suffering from genuine feelings of low self worth. Some symptoms include withdrawing one’s self from the

rest of the world, seeking to please other people at one’s own expense, feeling unhappy about one’s body and

appearance (which can lead to some eating disorders), and neglecting one’s self. You may also worry a lot

about what others say but put little importance on what you have to say. You may be expecting too little from

yourself despite imposing impossible standards of perfection at the same time.

If these are the cocktail of feelings that you often suffer from, then the first step is to seek professional help.

This is because trained professional therapists can provide an excellent avenue through which you can

re-evaluate whatever negative feelings and opinions you have about yourself. This is the first step towards

self acceptance and recognizing your worth as a person.

While you are working towards building your own self esteem slowly with a therapist, you will also benefit

from trying to actively make choices in your various activities to inculcate a habit of self love. For instance,

for every successful activity that you partake in, give yourself due credit. Make this recognition of your

contribution to the cause more material by rewarding yourself. Have you scored well in an exam? Buy

something you like, or eat somewhere nice to reward yourself for a job well done.

Next, eat healthy, workout, and sleep well. Keeping a healthy lifestyle is a good step in order to begin

appreciating one’s body, as it is one of the steps through which you are able to gain greater appreciation of

yourself. You need not be displeased about how you look, because of the fact that you are very much aware

that you are taking care of yourself very well. You will also find that eating healthy, sleeping well, and

working out will contribute to your having enough energy to participate better in your activities and to

simply enjoy whatever happens during the day.

Whenever people ask a favour from you, first consider if this favour will involve putting other people before

your needs. You need to actively ensure that your needs are first met before you go around helping other

people out. This will help you recognize that while other people are important, you deserve the same

attention that you shower on other people.

One of the best low self esteem solutions is to participate in activities that you like. In the process, you may

discover some talent that you were unable to devote yourself to previously. Dancing, art, music, or sports can

help you find a niche of specialization, as well as an avenue for self-expression.

About Internal Branding

Most companies focus entirely on promoting their brand to create a positive perception on

the consumer’s brand that internal branding loses its share of the formula. An important

share, at that. Marketing efforts are executed to establish a high-quality brand that

delivers to the needs and demands of the consumers. But how do you ensure that you are

delivering up to the standards of your company? This is where internal branding comes into

play.

To attain good quality products and services for your brand, you need to take care of your

business’ internal processes first. Internal branding is about the focus you give on

ensuring that practices and methods utilized in the creation of products or services meet

your company’s set of values. Branding must be done inside and out. You need to be able to

reproduce these values in the mind of everyone who is a part of the organization so you

can naturally promote your brand.

How Do You Achieve It?

You cannot produce a good marketing message to the public unless you start from within.

That is something every business owner need to realize. Therefore, you need to learn

strategies as to how you can effectively execute a sound internal branding system to

ensure a cohesive take on developing a brand that will satisfy your potential customers.
Here’s how you can do it:

• Gather together all of your development team work together in the development and

creation of the brand to ensure that all methods are synchronized with your values and set

of objectives laid out by the company.

• When hiring employees to work with you, choose those that are aligned with the corporate

values of your company. Having the right set of skills will enable you to achieve the most

effective brand representation you desire.

• Keep internal communication lines open at all times. This will enable you to reinforce

and enhance whatever existing values that are being executed to meet the promise of your

brand. If you keep nurturing this in the mind of the employees, then they will be able to

develop that soon enough.
Benefits of Internal Branding

Aside from unity in your company’s vision towards what you want to achieve with your

brand, internal branding offers more benefits. If you are not aware of the potential

benefits that internal branding offers, these are just a few ways that it can help boost

your brand’s campaign:

• Internal branding produces a healthy working environment and cohesive working culture.

Once all employees understand the vision behind the brand, all components of the company

are now geared towards the same goals.

• Internal branding produces a more consistent branding message. Once your brand have

established a given brand reputation, your employees will be proud to represent your

company while at the same time be challenged to meet its set of standards.

• Internal branding serves as an avenue to push for change.

• Internal branding develops your brand identity.
Basic Priciples

If you want to create an effective internal branding system, every company must give

attention to the following set of principles:

1.) Give freedom not control. An effective internal branding management is one that

emphasizes a set of rules that are agreed on by the employees, so they could genuinely

contribute to the advancement of your brand.

2.) Decentralize. Learn how to trust your employees to deliver the quality your brand

deserves.

3.) Communicate your company’s message to the personnel first before the customers. How do

you expect your employees to deliver the type of standard you want to achieve if they do

not have proper understanding of the company’s objectives?

4.) Synchronized operation. You need to be able to pull together different departments of

the company so that everyone works at the same pace and perspective.

5.) Think long-term goals. No brand is created overnight. Therefore, you need to create

that mindset in your personnel that enables them to think of the long-term impacts and

effects of an effective internal branding system

by Mary Johnson

Who among us has never procrastinated? The first time you procrastinated was probably in school when you did a project or paper at the last minute or tried to cram for an exam. It’s not easy to overcome procrastination, but it is a habit you can unlearn, just like you learned it.

The first step to solving any problem is to admit you have one. The second step is acknowledging you want to solve that problem and will do what it takes to overcome the issue. So repeat after me, “I am a chronic procrastinator. I will do whatever I must to rid myself of this nasty habit.” Well done! This is the first step toward a new “do it now” you!

Generally, there are three reasons we procrastinate. One, we just don’t like to do unpleasant things. Two, we’d rather do what we’d rather do. Finally, we put off and jobs or tasks that seem overwhelming.

Even when you can bring yourself around to doing that which is unpleasant you will find a million other excuses why the task can wait. Whatever your reason for procrastinating you must find a way to overcome the excuses.

If the problem facing you is a job you don’t want to do, then think of some way to leverage your best interest in favor of getting the task done. Offer yourself a reward once the job is done. Do something for yourself.

If there is something else you prefer doing make that your reward. If you would rather have a manicure than go to the dentist, schedule a manicure right after your dental appointment. Immediate gratification is a great way to overcome procrastination.

When a task overwhelms you break it up into small units. This is an extremely effective way to stop procrastinating. Smaller units of a big job can make it seen more achievable.

Procrastination seems like a never-ending battle, but you can overcome it. Here are a few more tips you can use.

You can set a schedule and stick to it, practicing time management and organizational skills as you follow it. Nothing works as well as a well planned day. When a task takes too long stop, add it to tomorrow’s list, and move on. There is no miracle cure for procrastination, but you’ll find yourself doing procrastinating less following these tips.
